CENTRAL EAST, Fla. (Dec. 5, 2007) - The Daytona Beach International Festival (DBIF) has announced new ticket prices for children, students, and supporters of local arts organizations. For the remainder of DBIF's 2007-2008 concert season, single-concert tickets for children under the age of 18 are now just $12 with the purchase of an adult ticket, and students can purchase tickets for just $22 (with student ID). Additionally, DBIF has introduced a new Friends of the Arts Discount, which offers adults a 15 percent discount on all single-event tickets when they present tickets from Seaside Music Theater, the Museum of Arts and Sciences, Peabody Auditorium events and other local arts organizations*. The new ticket offers are available beginning with the December 14 Skaggs Family Christmas Concert (Peabody Auditorium, 600 Auditorium Blvd.), featuring bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs, along with members of his musical family.

'Among our missions with the new DBIF is to make world-class music more broadly accessible and to encourage support of the local arts scene,' said Eric Lariviere, President of DBIF. 'Our new student and child prices and Friends of the Arts program will help accomplish both missions, sharing new musical genres with young people, and rewarding support of the arts locally.'

The 2007-2008 DBIF Season includes performances by Ricky Skaggs & Family (Dec. 14), Emerson String Quartet (Jan. 15), The Romeros (Jan. 31), a Mardi Gras Celebration (Feb. 20), I Musici de Montreal (Feb. 22), the Pat Metheny Trio (March 11), Natalie MacMaster (March 15), Camerata Ireland and Barry Douglas (March 19), and the Irish Rovers (March 27). DBIF presents the biennial festival featuring the London Symphony Orchestra, slated for April 17 to May 2, 2009. Previously known as the Florida International Festival, the 2009 Festival will bear the organization's new name - Daytona Beach International Festival. The new DBIF was formed with unprecedented support from the City of Daytona Beach, County of Volusia, the Daytona Beach Racing & Recreational Facilities District, and with continued support from the private sector, to embark on an ambitious plan to take the Festival to even greater heights.

Daytona Beach is 23-miles of picturesque beaches along the Atlantic Coastline of Florida. Historically known for its spectacular beaches and motor sports, the Daytona Beach area is also endowed with numerous first-class cultural organizations, including the Museum of Arts and Sciences, the Southeast Museum of Photography, the Atlantic Center for the Arts as well as the state's only professional musical theater company, Seaside Music Theater, and the largest international and orchestral Festival in Florida, the Daytona Beach International Festival, and many more.

* All DBIF discounts applicable only on regular concert season concerts; not applicable on special events, including concert by Itzhak Perlman. Friends of the Arts Discount tickets only available upon presentation of event tickets at DBIF Box Office located at 212 S. Beach Street.
